Moskitia National Flag The Moskitia National Flag (also known historically as the King George Cross ) was officially commissioned on March 8, 1824 by His Majesty King George Frederic Augustus II. Its creation was a response to increasing provocations from Gran Colombia (1819–1831) and the broader rise of Latin American republicanism , which threatened monarchical and Indigenous sovereignties in the region.
