Moskitia National Flag The Moskitia National Flag (also known historically as the King George Cross ) was officially commissioned on March 8, 1824 by His Majesty King George Frederic Augustus II. Its creation was a response to increasing provocations from Gran Colombia (1819–1831) and the broader rise of Latin American republicanism , which threatened monarchical and Indigenous sovereignties in the region. Today, the  flag of Moskitia  holds the distinction of being the  oldest civil national flag in the Americas . Proper Descriptions: ⚔️ 1. 1629 The islands of Old Providence and Saint Andrew were found by Capt. Sussex Camock and Capt. Daniel Elfrith, both on different privateering ships belonging to the Earl of Warwick. 1630 4th December The Providence Island Colony was established. 1633 1st July "Instructions from the Company of Providence Island to Capt. Sussex Cammock To "set" with his company upon Cape Gratia a Dios, there to discover and maintain a trade with the natives. To preserve the true worship of God and repress sin.
